Tracy Larsen

Coach Tracy, her husband, Dan, and their family were transferred to Sheridan with the Military 13 years ago. They have since made it their home and graduated all four of their children from SHS.

Volleyball Experience

• Coach Tracy has been around volleyball her whole life. Her dad coached when she was young and she watched him play.

• Tracy was an All-Conference player for 3 years in her High School career. She was All-State her Senior year for both volleyball and basketball.

• Tracy competed as a dual-sport athlete at Casper College and started coaching AAU volleyball when she was a student.

• Following her time at Casper College, she coached JV volleyball in Riverton, WY for 5 years before moving to Sheridan.

• She was the head Freshman coach at Sheridan High School for a year before accepting a job that no longer aligned with a coaching schedule.

• Tracy coached both of her daughters at Sheridan Volleyball Club for 7 years and says “I have been lucky enough to watch both of my daughters continue to play at the college level.”

• She is looking forward to being in the gym coaching again and working with our 12’s alongside her daughter, Taylor.

Why do I coach?

“I love volleyball. I love the relationships that are formed, the athleticism of the athletes, the pace of game and that it is a true team sport. There are so many life skills learned through athletics and it is an amazing tool for personal growth.”

What do I look forward to teaching my team?

“I look forward to teaching a love for the game and giving them a really solid fundamental base to grow from.”

Why the philosophy of coaching "person first, athlete second" is important to me:

“Person first, athlete second. We are all people going through experiences, who happen to also play a game. It's important to keep that in perspective. We are more than just volleyball players, we are sisters, daughters, mothers, friends, scholars, musicians, and so much more.”

Other Tidbits

“I love spending time with my family, the being in the mountains, golf, live music and volleyball.”
